Product Details

The Access 4000 CDR Collection Manager offers a fail-safe, all-in-one OSS/BSS OAM&P solution supporting: call data record (CDR) collection, X.25-TCP/IP Gateway, and a Serial Terminal Server. Residing between the telephone exchange network element and the BSS/OSS management applications, it provides a complete CDR collection and Command Line Interface (CLI) management solution for service providers and small to large enterprise networks. The unit is ideally suited to replace AT&T BILLDATS and other legacy CDR collection systems.

Designed for high volume and reliable CDR collection, master/slave unit redundancy automatically ensures data collection during network or equipment failures. Direct connection to the CO switch and high-capacity local storage of call detail records eliminates "leakage" of billing data (and loss of revenue) often associated with high call volume and low-capacity legacy CO switches.

All the functionality of the Access 4000 X.25-TCP/IP Gateway is included, providing a single-box collection and CLI conversion solution. Connecting directly to the X.25 interface of the CO switch and the local IP network eliminates any legacy X.25 network and modems, and their associated maintenance costs. The second port of the Access 4000 provides a backup X.25 interface for collection, or a serial or X.25/TCP conversion for command line interfaces on the switch. Either X.25 interface can support simultaneous collection and CLI connections.

An intuitive web-based GUI complete with extensive on-line help provides configuration and management capabilities via any standard desktop Internet browser. Command/shell access is also available locally or remotely via Secure Shell (SSH) for advanced management.

CDR Collection - BSS Application Example

CDR Collection Manager Network Diagram

The Access 4000 CDR Collection Manager connects directly to a legacy CO switch, and polls for AMR, CDR, or other data using a flexible automatic schedule. Collected files are stored locally on a flash drive then pushed to (or pulled from) a mediation/billing processor using FTP/SCP/SFTP. Forwarded files can be compressed or encrypted then archived locally with a definable retention schedule.

Migrating from an X.25 to a TCP/IP network eliminates the maintenance cost of legacy equipment while maximizing the throughput of the X.25 connection. Collection into local storage ensures collection during downstream network and BSS server outages, and redundant units automatically guarantee it.

Command Line Interface- OSS Application Example

CDR Collection Manager Network Diagram
