Overview

The Microtronix ViClaro II Video Enhancement IP Development Platform is targetted at the development of consumer video display and imaging systems. It is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of Altera's Cyclone II for video and image enhancements applications in Video Display Controller ASSP systems.

This kit is designed to install on a system with:

• Quartus II v7.0 or Quartus II v7.0 Web Edition (available from the Altera web site).

The ViClaro II Board includes the following items:

• Quartus project reference design that works with Quartus II v7.0 or Quartus II v7.0 Web Edition
• Microtronix HDMI Receiver and Transmitter SOPC Builder Components
• Documentation
• Evaluation versions of Microtronix Multi-port SDRAM and I2C IP (required to build reference design)

Rebuilding the Example Design

The example design makes use of the Microtronix I2C Master/Slave IP Core and the Microtronix Multi-Port SDRAM Memory Controller IP Core. Evaluation versions are included in this distribution. Evaluation licenses can be obtained by contacting sales@microtronix.com

Before compiling this project the following steps must be completed:

1. From the Project menu, select Add/Remove Files In Project

2. Remove all existing files

3. Add Microtronix I2C package file (default location C:/altera/70/quartus/sopc_builder/components/mtx_avalon_i2c/mtx_avalon_i2c_package.vhd)

4. Add Microtronix SDRAM package file (default location C:/Program Files/Microtronix/Multi-Port SDRAM Controller/synthesis/mtx_sdram_package.vhd)

5. Select User Libraries from the Category column

6. Remove existing Microtronix I2C and SDRAM libraries

7. Add Microtronix I2C library (default location C:/altera/70/quartus/sopc_builder/components/mtx_avalon_i2c/)

8. Add Microtronix SDRAM library (default location C:/Program Files/Microtronix/Multi-Port SDRAM Controller/synthesis/)

9. Click OK

Installing and Removing the Release

The release has been wrapped with a setup program. To install the release, run the setup.exe file that is included in the package. Removal of the software package should be done by following the normal Windows procedure ("Add or Remove Programs" from the Control Panel).

After the installation has completed the following locations other than the install directory should have been populated (assuming QR is the Quartus II directory):
