Microtronix Announces DX-2200-TI SD/HD-SDI Text Inserter

LONDON, Ontario—Monday December 2, 2013 - Microtronix® Datacom Ltd. today announced the release of the DX-2200-TI, a SD/HD-SDI Text Inserter supporting text overlay on standard definition (SD) NTSC/PAL and high definition (HD) SDI video streams. The unit supports interlaced, progressive segmented frame (PsF) and progressive formats. Up to 12 independent text fields on three independent overlay layers can be independently controlled for color size, font background color and positions.

The unit supports on screen display (OSD) of overlay text delivered to the unit through the RS-232 Serial Control Port. An extensive command set allows for full control of size, font type, color, position, transparency and background color and background transparency. Serial commands can optionally be used assign switch functions to control the display of text fields. Text, graphics and custom user configurations can be stored in on-board flash.

The DX-2200-TI is designed for use in broadcast, professional video recording, surveillance, point-of-sale, security and embedded applications requiring live, high-speed text insertion with no degradation of the video content. All ancillary and vertical blanking information (VBI) content including audio channels and embedded metadata is passed through transparently.
