DX-2200 SD/HD-SDI Text & Graphics Overlay Inserter (OSD) with PIP & SDI Loop Output

The DX-2200-TI-24 is a single port, high-speed and low frame delay SD/HD-SDI Text and Graphics Inserter with PIP OSD capable of overlaying live text and graphic components (symbols, lines, logos etc.) onto a SD or HD SDI video stream in both interlaced and progressive video formats. Up to 48 independent text or graphic fields on each of three overlay layers can be displayed and positioned as required. The text can independently controlled for color, size, font and background color. Enhanced on screen display (OSD) capabilities include: alpha blending and multi-layering of both text and graphic fields, and dynamic positioning of text and graphic components. An ancillary SDI input (which can operate asynchronous to the main video source) is used for overlaying a PIP display from a second video source.

The text and graphic OSD information is delivered to the unit through the RS-232 Serial Control Port. An extensive Serial Command set allows for full control of text size, font type, color, position, transparency and background color and background transparency. Serial commands can optionally be used to assign custom switch functions to control the display of text or graphic fields. User text, graphics overlays and custom user configurations can be stored in on-board flash. The unit has 2MB of flash available for storing graphic images uploaded through the serial port using a JAVA Software Uploader utility.

The DX-2200-TI-24 overrlay inserter is designed for use in broadcast, professional video recording, surveillance, point-of-sale, security and embedded applications requiring alpha blended graphics (i.e. logos) overlay and live, high-speed text insertion with minimal frame dealy and no degradation of the video content. All ancillary and vertical blanking information (VBI) content including audio channels and embedded metadata is passed through transparently (on the main SDI feed).

The unit provides two SDI outputs: one with the overlay and the other a clean loop-thru output of the video source.

Microtronix provides a Web Server based Product Manager Web User Interface (UI) Application for a Raspberry Pi3 platform which provides the user with Web UI – from a standard browser connection – the ability to configure, control and monitor DX-2200 product attached to a Raspberry Pi3 unit through a USB-serial connection.
